Racha-Lechkhumi

Being the historically renowned wine-making region of Racha-Lechkhumi in the North-Western Georgia, our region is known to be rich in diverse soils, moderate climate, with relatively dry hot summers, moderately cold winters and longer ripening season. Here you can find a few of the country’s appellations, including Khvachkara PDO and Tvishi PDO. Our vineyards are situated on the most favorable south facing slopes which ensures more direct sunlight, hence more sugar concentration in the grapes.

Soil

The soils are mostly humus-calcareous and alluvial, also containing limestone and clay. The clay soils retain exactly the amount of water needed; the steep and alluvial slopes guarantee sufficient drainage and good aeration.

Winemaking

The winemaking philosophy is to show the fingerprint character of the region, with its unique terroir components, from hilly landscape and diverse soils to moderate climate. We do it through the wines which are made is a classical as well low-intervention Georgian traditional methods using Qvevri methods. With less interference and dry-farmed sustainably grown vineyards we are striving towards making unique products by leaving as less impact on the nature as possible.
